Irrigation uses three small jets of water to remove the ear wax by gently washing it out of the ear canal. Irrigation is usually used when the wax is too soft or too deep for micro suction. Occasionally it may also be beneficial for the audiologist to also use tools to help remove the ear wax.

A full risk assessment will be carried out to help the Audiologist decide on which method of ear wax removal to choose for each individual client. Please let your Audiologist know if you have a strong  preference as it may affect how you are asked to pre treat your ear wax ahead of your appointment.
